Course overview:
This Course weaves in the best practice concepts for sleep, with a series of practices that:
- restore your natural energy flow and rhythms to enhance ease in sleep.
- regulate your breathing to directly modify your body and brain behaviour.
- alter your brainwave activity to invoke the brain state conducive for deeper sleep.
- invite quiet time into your day, so that you do not disrupt your rhythms and comprise your sleep.
What you will learn:
- practices to release mental and physical tensions in your body and mind, to bring your brain wave activity into a more conducive state for restful sleep.
- how to balance your emotional energy and create calm.
- how to rest in supported poses to quieten the mind and activate the calm state of your nervous system.
- how to invoke relaxed sleep, getting back to sleep, and dealing with wakefulness.
About your Yoga Therapist - Caroline Giles
My entire working life (40 years) has been in the healthcare profession, facilitating others to become the best version of themselves. This has included working in neurological rehabilitation, national health research, online professional writing and now as a Yoga Therapist (with a yoga business of some 15 years). Consistently I work with students in group classes and privately for yoga therapy, who seek and find solutions to create rest in their day.

In general, these practices are not strenuous however require a reasonable state of health. As stated in the Important Note below, before starting any new form of practice, I do recommend seeking the opinion of your health professional.

Most of the practices (especially any breathing or meditation) can be completed in a chair or on your bed. You can also sit on some height on your mat, like on a bolster or on some folded blankets.

All these Courses and practices are based on my 15 years of teaching experience with a vast range of students. I also work therapeutically, supporting people individually with complex health issues. In general, this is not the expertise you will receive in a public group yoga class.
