About Swami Asokananda

Experience Yoga was delighted and honored to host the visit of Swami Asokananda, one of Integral Yoga’s foremost teachers, to Melbourne in January 2019.

Known for his warmth, intelligence, and good humor, Swami Asokananda’s teaching flows from his own practice and experience. A monk since 1973, he has absorbed the wisdom of his guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda, since the age of 19. He loves sharing the practical wisdom of yogic philosophy, especially from his lifelong study and writings on yoga’s sacred text, the Bhagavad Gita.

Swami Asokananda is current President of the Integral Yoga Institute in New York and past president of Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville® and Integral Yoga® International.
